Islares is highly attractive to tourists thanks to its beautiful coastal location. In the surrounding areas, you can visit Saint Martin’s Church, built in Gothic style, Saint Roque’s chapel or the ruins of an ancient hospital for pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela.

Castro Urdiales is a fascinating port town that invites you to stroll along the narrow streets of its old town before enjoying one of its highlights: its gastronomy. The town dates back to medieval times and in 1978 was officially recognized as a historic settlement. Renowned monuments include the Santa María church – the best example of Gothic architecture in Cantabria, the adjacent castle-lighthouse and the beautiful Santa Ana bridge. Castro Urdiales is also home to prehistoric art of incalculable value, such as the Peña del Cuco cave paintings.
