The Surroundings

Orduña is key to understanding the history of Biscay. A point of entry from Castile, its location has been decisive on many occasions throughout the last 700 years. A medieval town, flanked by the mountains that give birth to the Nervion River, it is also where traditions merge with the future in a booming local economy.

Nearby you will find the Quejana mountains, ‘txakoli’ vineyards and even snail farms!

Agricultural shows such as ‘Ocho Mayos’ or the San Juan fair are the perfect setting to promote local produce.

Orduña is an area in which you can truly enjoy nature, whether it is a stroll along one of its many picturesque paths or by practising sports such as paragliding or rock climbing.

And all just a stone’s throw from Bilbao and Vitoria.
